June 28, 12 p.m.DTN’s Lead Analyst Todd Hultman will explain what USDA’s June 28 grain stocks report says about grain demand and take a look at USDA’s June acreage reports. The USDA final acreage for 2017 was 90.142 million acres. Thus, if the USDA reports soybean acres on Friday at the average analyst estimate of 89.691 million acres, that would be a slight decrease in acreage of .50% from 2017. For soybean stocks, the average analyst estimate for the June 29th USDA Grain Stocks report is 1.225 billion bushels. Compare that to the June USDA stocks report in 2017 of .966 billion bushels and we’re looking at an increase in stocks of 26.81% year over year.
